Websense® Security Labs™ has received reports of a phishing attack that targets customers of Andover State Bank. Users receive a spoofed email message, which claims that their account will be suspended unless it is updated. The email provides a link to a phishing site that attempts to collect account information.

This phishing site is hosted in France and was up at the time of this alert.

Phishing email text:

Dear Andover State Bank Member,

Due to concerns, for safety and integrity of the online banking community we have issued this warning message.

It has come to our attention that your online banking account record needs to be updated due to inactive members, frauds and spoof reports.
If you could take 5 - 10 minutes out of your online experience, and renew your records you will not run into future problems with the online service. However, failure to update your records will result in account suspension.

NOTE: THIS NOTIFICATION EXPIRES ON DECEMBER 22, 2006.

Once you have updated your account records, your internet banking service will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.
Please follow the link bellow and renew your banking account.

December 20, 2006, Alexandria, VA – National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman JoAnn Johnson spent the last three days in Louisiana, traveling through areas recovering from Hurricane Katrina, and meeting with credit unions affected by the storm. Chairman Johnson also attended a financial literacy graduation ceremony.

December 20, 2006, Alexandria, VA – National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman JoAnn Johnson presented the President’s Call to Service Award to Mr. Kenneth Uffman and Mr. James Moore, during a ceremony at the Credit Union Service Center, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The President’s Call to Service Award recognizes 4,000 hours or more of volunteer service over a lifetime.
