The article provides ten steps aimed at decreasing fear in members who resist the advances in online money management due to security concerns.

Personal information of 65,000 students, former students, and faculty members including names, addresses, Social Security numbers and, in some cases, credit card numbers leaked when documents were uploaded to a web site with wrong access permissions. A programming error on the school’s OnePass Web site, created files that made it possible for anyone to view.

While I am confident that the Fed will find someone of high caliber to fill this seat, Dr. Bies will be difficult to replace.

February 9, 2007, Alexandria, Va. –Representatives from the National Credit Union Administration’s (NCUA) Office of Public and Congressional Affairs answered questions and distributed materials regarding consumer protection to interested Members of Congress and their staff at an event on Capitol Hill yesterday. NCUA was joined by several other federal agencies and consumer groups at the event, which was part of National Consumer Protection Week.
