En route to speak at the Defense Council of Credit Unions in Italy last week, NCUA Vice Chairman Rodney E. Hood met with British Credit Union and government leaders to compare business best practices. Accompanied by Mike Beall of the Maryland and District of Columbia Credit Union Association, Hood met with Her Majesty’s Treasury, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the Association of British Credit Unions Limited (ABCUL), and credit union leaders and volunteers.

In recognition of President Bush’s and the United States Congress’ designation of April as “Financial Literacy Month”, National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman JoAnn Johnson visited Woodbridge Senior High School, in Woodbridge, VA, to emphasize the importance of financial education; demonstrate the www.mymoney.gov website; and present the President’s Volunteer Service Award to dedicated student volunteers.

Websense® Security Labs™ have received reports of a phishing attack that targets Commercial Bank of Kuwait customers. Users receive a spoofed email message that claims a number of attempts were made to login to the user’s account from a foreign IP address. The email states that the account was temporarily suspended pending re-activation, in order to protect the user. The email provides a link to a phishing site which attempts to collect personal and account information.


This phishing site is hosted in the Netherlands and was down at the time of this alert.

We recently noticed one or more attempts to log in to your Commercial Bank of Kuwait account from a foreign IP address.

If you recently accessed your account while traveling, the unusual log in attempts may have been initiated by you. However if you are the rightful holder of the account. Click on the link below to re-activate your membership and follow the instructions.

If you choose not to complete the request, you give us no choice but to suspend your account temporary.
It takes at least 72 hours for the investigation in this case and we strongly recommend you to verify your account at that time.

If you received this notice and you are not the authorized account holder, please be aware that it is in violation of Commercial Bank of Kuwait policy to represent oneself as an other Commercial Bank of Kuwait user. Such action may also be in violation of local, national, and/or international law. The community charter report identifies community conversions, expansions, and new community charters approved under IRPS 99-1, as amended by IRPS 00-1 and IRPS 01-1 or, after May 15, 2003, under IRPS 03-1.
