On July 12, Cybersecurity company UpGuard announced a data leak of Verizon Wireless customer data. What happened? Due to human error – a cloud server for data repository had been misconfigured and exposed the private data of approximately 6 million Verizon Wireless customers.
The leaked personal and private data included, phone numbers, names, and PIN codes.
If you called Verizon Wireless support within the last 6 months, you will want to change your PIN.
