Watch Out for Spoofed Zoom, Skype, Google Meet Sites Delivering Malware

This article is a little more technical than usual for CU*Secure, but the bad guys are up to a new trick.

As reported by The Hacker News, threat actors have been leveraging fake websites advertising popular video conferencing software such as Google Meet, Skype, and Zoom to deliver a variety of malware targeting both Android and Windows. The spoofed sites are in Russian and are hosted on domains that closely resemble their legitimate counterparts, indicating that the attackers are using typosquatting tricks to lure prospective victims into downloading the malware.

Remember to be diligent that you are not clicking on random links, even if the domain name looks close enough to the legitimate URL.  If you are getting these links in emails, confirm with the sender that they intended to send it to you before clicking.
